About Kinship
Kinship helps people look after someone they love in Nigeria, from wherever they live. People in the UK set up a Kinship Plan for someone they love in Nigeria: the Kinship care team, Kemi on WhatsApp and a shared record, with nurse visits at home and a named Kinkeeper. Our small team works across the UK, Nigeria and Ghana, and every role helps people stay close across the distance.
The role
You are the person who arrives at the door. Every Kinship member in Lagos has people who care about them, often abroad, and a Kinship Plan so that someone is there in person. On a Kinship Visit, that person is you. You carry out home visits of every type, including companionship and escort, to the standard Kinship promises. Your Kinkeeper, a registered nurse, reviews and signs off the clinical quality of your work, and a doctor stands behind the whole team. Before your first visit you complete onboarding, including our orientation handbook and training built with our doctors. You will be employed by our care partner in Nigeria, which delivers care on the ground. Together we are building a small, careful team of nurses who bring warmth, reliability and professional standards into every home.
Main responsibilities
- Carry out scheduled home visits to members, across every visit type, including companionship and escort
- Complete the visit report for every visit, following the agreed operating procedure
- Escalate anything flagged for safeguarding or medication to the team straight away
- Complete onboarding, including the orientation handbook and the clinical training
- Meet Kinship's standard on every visit
Essential requirements
- Registered nurse with a current NMCN licence in good standing
- Two to three years' experience
- Comfortable with technology, including using AI tools for visit reporting
- Reliable availability between 8am and 8pm. You will not work the whole window; we need open availability to schedule visits
- Detail oriented
- Strong professional and interpersonal communication skills
Nice to have
- Home care, domiciliary or elderly care experience
- Experience of companionship or escort support
Our values
How we work
Kinship exists to look after the people someone loves. That takes a particular kind of person, so we're clear about what we value and who thrives here.
Raise the bar
We hold a high standard, starting with ourselves. We'd rather do a few things brilliantly than many things adequately. If you take pride in work you'd put your name to, you'll feel at home.
Get better every day
We think talent is built, not handed out. We give feedback straight and take it well, because the fastest way to grow is to hear the truth early. Nobody here is finished.
Move fast, keep our word
We look after people someone loves, so trust is everything. We move quickly to get help into people's hands, and we never cut a corner that touches it. Fast and honest, both at once.
Own the outcome
We take problems all the way to done. No dropped batons, no waiting to be told the next step. And we build things to last, so a problem solved once stays solved.
The person comes first
Everything we do protects the person on the other end. We treat every member the way we'd want someone we love to be treated. That is the whole reason Kinship exists.
