The health benefits in Kinship Well

Kinship Well is the health part of a Kinship Plan, in two tiers - Well and Well+ - both with the same health benefits. Here's how those benefits work, who provides them, and where the full details live.

How do the benefits fit into their Kinship Plan?

A Kinship Plan is built from the elements you choose - for someone you love, or for yourself: Kinship Well, the health side - Kemi, a named Care Manager, and help when something needs arranging - and Kinship Visits, someone there in person. The benefits themselves come with the health side, through the group arrangement our care partner in Nigeria holds.

Who actually provides the health benefits?

They're provided through MyCoverGenius and underwritten by Bastion Health, under the group arrangement our care partner in Nigeria maintains - and always in the member's own name. The provider's own documents set out exactly what's included, and those documents always govern.

When do we see the full details?

Right now, and again before you pay anything: the full benefit schedule is one tap away below. When the member is enrolled, the provider's benefit document and member ID are shared with them through Kinship, in their own name - and that document always prevails.

What happens in an emergency?

Kinship's own care is there from day one - a doctor on call whenever they need one, Kemi, and their named Care Manager. The health benefits are designed around care in Nigeria, where your loved one lives, through the provider's hospital network.

Are they supported when they travel abroad?

The benefits are built around care at home in Nigeria, through the provider's hospital network - with some reimbursement for care outside Nigeria, as the provider's benefit document sets out. And Kemi, the doctor on call and their Care Manager stay with them wherever they are.

Do Well and Well+ have different benefits?

No - never. Well and Well+ include the same health benefits: hospital care, medicines, tests. The tiers differ only in how much ongoing support and follow-through Kinship provides around them.

Some hospital benefits build in over the first year; everyday care starts straight away. Waiting periods and exclusions are set out in the provider's benefit document, which comes to your loved one in her own name at enrolment.
