What happens to a Kinship Plan when someone dies
If the member dies, tell us when you are ready and the plan ends from the date of death; collections stop as soon as we are told and nobody is asked to pay for care after a death. If the person paying dies, the plan does not end with them: care continues for 60 days while the family decides who takes it over.

If the member dies
- Tell us whenever you are ready. There is no form to race to.
- The plan can end from the date of death. Collections stop once we know, and the minimum term does not apply.
- These moments are handled personally, family by family, by the Kinkeeper the member knew and the founders. Not by a process.
If the person paying dies
- The plan does not end with them. For 60 days care continues: supporter collections carry on as normal, and the plan's Kin Fund can cover any payment that would otherwise fail.
- During that window we offer the plan to the other supporters and the family, so someone can take it over.
- If nobody does, the plan ends at the close of the window with the ordinary refunds, and the estate is never charged for future cycles.
What the family is asked for
As little as possible. The Kinkeeper already knows the member and the family. Where there is a death certificate we will ask for it at some point, not on the first call.
